For nearly twenty years LMI have maintained a ministry partnership with our Global Partner in the Southeast Asian nation of Myanmar (formerly Burma).

LMI’s Global Partner in Myanmar leads a network of national missionaries serving in various regions across his homeland and provides training and support for local pastors with church leadership responsibilities.

In addition to mission and outreach activities, our partner and his colleagues lead a bible college providing accredited training for +100 students, who study for four years to earn theology degrees and certificates, with the vast majority going on to mission and pastoral service. A second Bible school functioning entirely in Burmese is also in operation, providing another level of teaching input alongside the college.

Since the most recent military coup in the nation, our partner has also established a community school providing education for +300 children. Team workers also maintain a children’s home, providing shelter and a family environment for those living without parents.

LMI regularly sends Bible teaching teams to work in-person with our Global Partner in Myanmar and LMI Bible Teaching Ministry resources have been translated into several local languages for use across the country. These resources are helping to enrich the discipleship and teaching work our Partner and his co-workers carry out in-person and online.

Biblical Resources. We want to sponsor further translation and production of LMI’s Bible Teaching Ministry resources to assist our Global Partner in disciple-making.

Theological Education. Many who study at either the Bible College or the vernacular Bible School not only face the challenge of study, some must also deal with hostility and rejection when Buddhist family members oppose the decision to undertake Christian theological education. We want to encourage these determined students with sponsorship support.

Mission and Church-planting. Our Partner has been overseeing a network of national missionaries for many years. We praise God for the good fruit of this work which has seen many churches planted. We want to assist this vital on-going work through the support of local mission teams who are reaching out with the Gospel.
