LMI's A Word For Your Week Devotional taken from John 6:35

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” - John 6:35

One day, Jesus fed five thousand people with five barley loaves and two small fish - a miracle indeed!

Jesus did not want anything to be wasted, so He told His disciples to gather the leftovers, which amounted to twelve basketfuls. When The Lord saw a need, He supplied abundantly.

The next day Jesus challenged the crowd to work for food that would endure to eternal life. They were to believe in Him, the Son of God Himself, and not just the manna that they had heard about from their forefathers. In John 6:33, we read: ‘For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world’. Jesus promises those of us who come to Him will neither hunger or thirst. He gives us eternal life for now and forever. He says in John 10:10b: “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

Thou art the Bread of Life,
O Lord, to me,
Thy holy Word the truth
That saveth me;
Give me to eat and live
With Thee above;
Teach me to love Thy truth,
For Thou art Love.
