LMI's 'A word for your week' devotional taken from Matthew 11:28.

C - ‘Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.’

The religious leaders wanted the people to do things their way, refusing to accept Jesus as the Son of God. King Herod had put John the Baptist in prison because he did not like being confronted about his sin.

The Lord Jesus gives the invitation for individuals who are burdened by sin and even religion, to come to Him. Come to Christ who alone can set you free from the bondage of sin and religious rules which weigh you down.

Come to Christ and lay down your burdens of sin, stress, fear and worry. He promises to give you rest of heart. He will carry whatever your burden is, in these days of lockdown.

Days are filled with sorrow and care

Hearts are lonely and drear

Burdens are lifted at Calvary

Jesus is very near

Burdens are lifted at Calvary,

Calvary, Calvary

Burdens are lifted at Calvary

Jesus is very near

Cast your care on Jesus today

Leave your worry and fear

Burdens are lifted at Calvary

Jesus is very near

Troubled soul, the Saviour can see

Every heartache and tear

Burdens are lifted at Calvary

Jesus is very near.
