LMI's 'A word for your week' devotional taken from John 11:25-27

Jesus said to her ‘I am the Resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this? She said to him, Yes Lord. I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world’ - John 11:25-27

These wonderful words were spoken to Martha when he went to see her and Mary when their brother Lazarus had died. Christ the giver of life raised him from the dead!

Martha and many others believed that Jesus was, who He claimed to be.

1 Corinthians 15:14 ‘ And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain’. V20 ‘But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.’ V21’For as by man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead.’

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the triumphant message for all today. The giver of life died and rose again to give eternal life to all those who receive Him as Saviour. This is a message of Good news to a world where sin, death and hopelessness reigns! Tell it to someone this week, it could change their lives as well as blessing your heart.

He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today

He walks with me and talks with me

Along life’s narrow way

He lives, He lives, Salvation to impart

You ask me how I know He lives?

He lives within my heart.

Chorus of hymn ‘I serve a risen Saviour’ by Alfred H Ackley
