As we come to the final edition of our Immanuel devotional, Lorna Wilkinson brings us to the very core of Christmas with ‘L’ for Love ❤️🙂.

The birth of Immanuel was a pivotal day in the history of the world. Even now, time is recorded from this amazing event! There are great reasons why it is worthy of remembrance and celebration.

The Greatest Love:
This is Agape, the unconditional love of God. The love of God encompasses the whole world! No one is excluded from this love. We do not deserve it and we cannot earn it 🌍.

The Greatest Gift:
God’s gift is incomparable to any other gift we might receive this Christmas. It is His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. He came down to earth so that one day we might go to heaven 🌅.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 6:23

The Greatest Choice:
This choice is for “whoever believes in him…” John 3:16.

Each one of us is called to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, Immanuel, who came to die on the cross to pay the price for our redemption. His finished work at Calvary has made the way - the only way - for us to be reconciled to God ✝️.

The Greatest Certainty:
“... should not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16.

“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26.

Jesus’ resurrection is the assurance of eternal life for all those who follow Him.

May this Christmas be your best one because the Saviour of the world is your very own. “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord” Luke 2:11.

Truly, love came down at Christmas ⭐️❤️,

“Joy to the world! the Lord is come;
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare him room,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the world! the Saviour reigns;
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.”
