LMI Trip down Memory Lane: 43 Years of Ministry and counting

It’s 43 years ago this month since Thomas and Yvonne McClean starting hosting missionary meetings in their East Belfast home 🏠🙂

In the decades following, they have visited over 35 nations across five continents, including South Sudan, Canada, Jamaica, Kenya, Vietnam, Uganda, India, Cuba, the USA and many more. They have ministered to believers and supported churches as the Lord has guided 🌎🤝.

A Word For Your Week: Psalm 118:24

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. - Psalm 118:24 (ESV)

This psalm was written during difficult times in the psalmist’s life. His enemies were surrounding him and he cried out in anguish to the Lord. He reminded himself that God was with him no matter what his circumstances were.  As he continued to ponder the presence of God with him, he said “this is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” It is the pivotal verse of the Psalm.

Back to the Mission Field

We’re thrilled to share that some of LMI’s cross-cultural missionaries are currently on their way back to Southeast Asia, having left Northern Ireland early this morning ✈️👋🏻😀.

This is the first time that any of our missionaries have travelled outside the UK and Ireland for work purposes since the coronavirus pandemic began.

We would truly value your prayers for travelling mercies and a blessed time of ministry in the weeks ahead.

A Word For Your Week: Psalm 113:1-3

Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord! Blessed be the name of the Lordfrom this time forth and forevermore! From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised!

Psalm 113:1-3 (ESV)

The name of the Lord is higher than any other name in heaven and earth. He is the Lord and we want to be his servants because we love Him. He is the centre of our lives as we seek to serve him wherever he has placed us.

LMI Trip down Memory Lane: Castlewellan Castle

The idyllic surroundings of Castlewellan Castle in County Down have provided an amazing location for many YEMF & LMI events over the years.

In the 80s, YEMF held regular gatherings at the castle, when young people came together to worship, pray, study, hear from missionaries and enjoy quality downtime together. Both home-grown missionaries and speakers from far-flung corners of the world challenged those gathered to think about the role they could play in global mission, and several baptisms took place over the years in the beautiful (but cold!) Castlewellan Lake ✝️
