Possessing an abundance of artistic skill, creative flair and imagination, combined with a very kind and thoughtful nature, Lucy McAllister is a young woman gifted by God with a passion and ability to reach young people for Christ. This desire has displayed itself in many ways over the years as Lucy has engaged in various forms of youth work and evangelism, both locally and overseas, including most recently as LMI’s first Youth & Schools Outreach Intern. And, with the support of her fiancé Jordan, her determination to see young people won for the Lord shows absolutely no sign of abating any time soon.

In former times, Lucy was the chairperson of Methodist College Belfast (Methody) Christian Union, a role which provided her with the opportunity to create and develop programmes focused on Bible teaching and prayer. She was able to further develop these skills by volunteering as a leader with a number of Christian organisations, including Exodus, Bible Centred Ministries (BCM UK) and Logic. Her involvement with these groups saw her lead a number of small-group Bible studies and teach larger groups of young people. Moreover, whilst serving with Exodus, Lucy also lead two overseas mission teams to Moldova, and then, during her time at Belfast Bible College, she organised weekly prayer meetings and lead a street outreach programme in the city.

In 2019, when Lucy became LMI’s first Youth & Schools Outreach Intern, it quickly became apparent that she was a perfect fit, adding her considerable talents to the gifts and abilities already possessed by those working in the department. She has flourished as a member of the team, displaying her creative talents through our educational programmes, and speaking confidently about Christ in schools, youth events and church meetings across the country. Moreover, she has displayed a wonderful aptitude and willingness to learn from her colleagues, drawing on their experience and wisdom. Lucy’s internship, however, was only for one year, which is why everyone at LMI was thrilled when she applied, and was accepted, as a mission candidate, displaying her desire to continue serving the Lord with LMI as a fulltime member of staff.

While primarily serving the Lord as a member of LMI’s Youth & Schools Outreach Team, Lucy will also be involved in LMI’s Publishing and Communications Department, Mission Awareness Programme and assist with mission administration.
