Chennai Update - COVID-19 International Relief Campaign

Thanks to your vital support, LMI’s COVID-19 International Relief Campaign is continuing to make a difference to people living in cities like Chennai, India, where a national lockdown has resulted in major unemployment, food shortages and even left some people facing starvation.

Having been involved in aid efforts for several months now, LMI’s Coordinator in Chennai remains committed to helping pastors and other people in serious need by providing urgently required food parcels.

Alan Dourish was delighted to join with the ladies from Maghera PW last night via Zoom, when he presented an overview of LMI and our work locally and overseas ✝️🙂.

Having spoken at some in-person church events recently, our team are also ready and prepared to share about the work of LMI in meetings virtually 💻.

Discussing the very important and poignant topic of persecution, the 38 young people present listened intently to a presentation and then took part in several prayer stations. One station involved creating a paper prayer chain (which you can see Danny holding in the photos), while another station involved praying for a particular country where persecution of Christians is ongoing.

A Word For Your Week: Mark 15:16

And he [Jesus] said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation…”  - Mark 16:15 (ESV)

Jesus gave this command to the disciples just after His resurrection. The angels had announced their message to the ladies at the tomb – “He has risen; he is not here.” (Mark 16:6).

The message was so wonderful that even the disciples initially refused to believe it.

A Word For Your Week: Hebrews 4

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. - Hebrews 4:12 

God’s word is alive today because it is indeed the living word. It discerns truth from error and guides us through the journey of life. Its words speak loudly into the hearts and minds of those who read or hear them. And, as someone has rightly said, ‘The Bible is the only book whose author is present every time you read it’.
