Blessed is the man, who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. - Psalm 1:1-6
During lockdown, some people have looked out the recipe books and baked bread, much to the delight of their families.
This Psalm gives us the recipe for a blessed life. It is to walk in the light of God’s word. We will be blessed by meditating on it continually as we journey through life. It will feed our souls to enable us to do our work effectively. It will cause our faith to deepen like the roots of the tree by the river. It will keep our witness fresh like the leaves. God promises to prosper our efforts as we sow His word in lives. His work is eternal in the lives of His people, but the way of the ungodly will perish.
Be refreshed by the Word of God this week.
