Jehovah Shalom - The Lord is Peace

"He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters". - Psalm 23:2

It is natural for sheep to wander off looking for more green grass. Sometimes they get lost and injured. A stray sheep is easy prey for predators. Sheep will not rest if they are hungry and bothered by insects and danger nearby.

Laden down with wool and not being good swimmers, they will not drink from flowing rivers, therefore the shepherd leads them to still waters.

Our good shepherd leads and looks after us. His word is our pasture and He refreshes our souls with living water. We can rest in His love and care. Jesus can calm our troubled hearts and feed our souls with His peace, even in the storms and valleys of life.

The promised Messiah would be known as the Prince of Peace Is 9:6. The present Messiah told His disciples in John 14:27 ‘Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you’ The Risen Messiah said to them in Luke 24:36 ‘Peace to you!’ The Lord is Peace!

Pastures abundant doth His hand provide,

Still waters flowing ever at my side

Goodness and mercy follow on my tract

With such a Shepherd nothing can I lack
